Bess Elaine Gaskins, 31

Bess Elaine Gaskins, 31, of Orange Park, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2020.   She was born on August 21, 1988 in Illinois.  Bess graduated from Fleming Island High School in 2006.  She started a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, which she loved dearly because it gave her the opportunity to do what she loved most – caring for people.  On February 1, 2011, Bess welcomed her amazing son, Colton Lane, who was the most important part of her life.

Bess was a ray of light to so many people and she did not know a stranger.  She was a loving and caring person who always thought of others first.  She was always there to lend an ear and give encouragement and motivation to those who needed it.  To know her was to love her.  She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Bess was preceded in death by her grandparents, David Gaskins, Ronald Ferrill and Sally Ferrill.  She is survived by her parents, Donald and Teresa Gaskins; her son, Colton Lane Gaskins-Horne; her sister, Ashley Zborowski (Eric); her beautiful nieces and nephew,  Emma, Owen and Alyse; her grandmother, Arletta Gaskins; and aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved very much.

A Celebration of Bess’ Life will be held 3:30 PM Friday, June 12, 2020 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720

She was always so full of life and was always smiling which always made me smile. She had such a sunny optimism about herself that made me think to myself: “Life ain’t that bad…” She will be dearly missed and I will keep her lovely son and her family in my thoughts &
    prayers.
