Barbara Jean Thornton, 80

Barbara Jean Thornton, 80 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021.  Barbara was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Norman and Barbara Hardy.  She had been a lifelong resident of Florida with a short time residence in Georgia.  Reading, gardening, doing word search games, and trying out new restaurants were a few things that Barbara enjoyed doing.

Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her son, Paul Thornton and daughter Libby Plummer and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Sonny Thornton, daughter, Kelly (Shawn) Meinke, daughter-in-law, Diane Thornton, was “Gigi” and “Gram” to her five grandchildren, Paul, Jade, Daisy, Tyler, and Lee and seven great grandchildren, Alex, Aaliyah, Makylah, Lilah, Ana, Loretta, and Lacey.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Cove Church of Christ.
