Arvid C. “Al” Miller, 78

Arvid C. “Al” Miller, 78 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 following a battle with Lewy Body disease. Mr. Miller was a native of Hastings, Michigan and moved to Green Cove Springs 20 years ago from Clay Hill. He was a veteran of the US Navy for seven years and retired from NAS in 2005 after 30 years. Later, Al retired again from Camp Blanding after seven years of service.  Over the years, Al was a mentor to many children and passed along his work ethic and life lessons. He enjoyed riding his Harley, singing, and playing his harmonica. Al never met a stranger and had a life motto of “Family First”.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his brother John Miller and is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joann Miller, children, Dyanna Renee “Dida” Miller, Jason Poland, Travis Miller, Adam Warner, Garth Warner, Ron Roberson and Bryan Roberson, brother, Nathan Lee (Paulette) Miller, three sisters, Carolyn (Hal) Platt, Marcia (Jerry) Mahler, and Ruth (Jim) Wicker, mother-in-law, Helen Gonsalves, grandchildren, Hayden, Savanna, Preston, Ella and Haley, along with many other family members and friends.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Russell Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Baker officiating.
