Ardis V. Carlson Dzimian, 93

Ardis V. Carlson Dzimian of Penney Farms, FL formerly of Palm Coast, FL and Hamburg, NY passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the age of 93.  She was born in the Bronx and after losing both parents as a teenager; she came to Buffalo to live with her Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary Metzger.  After graduating from Buffalo State Teachers College, she taught first grade, second grade, and kindergarten.  She spent many summers at the family lake cottage in Angola, NY and winters skiing at Sitzmarker Ski Club.

After retiring, Ardis and her late husband Sy, moved to Palm Coast, FL living on a canal and enjoying time on their boat.  She was an active member at the United Methodist Church and after moving to Penney Retirement Community, she continued to worship at the Methodist Church in Port Orange.

Ardis took up tennis at the age of 57 and played until she was 83.  She was also an exceptional Bridge player and enjoyed bird watching.  She loved her Buffalo Bills Football team and was a season ticket holder for many years.

Ardis and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world.  They also traveled the entire US and Canada in their camper.  After Sy passed away, she made several more trips to Europe, the Mediterranean, and South America.

Ardis is survived by her daughters, Laurie (David) Lawton and Carol (Rick) Stumpf, grandson, Zachary Stumpf, sister, Joyce Carache.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She will be missed by all.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sy Dzimian and cherished granddaughter, Kendra Stumpf.

Burial Services will be held at a later date in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, who was a WW II veteran.
