Anita Ray Oldham, 76, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. She was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to parents Alberta and Charles Oldham. Anita was a strong woman who had overcome many things in her life, including cancer; she was a fighter. She had many passions, but none like her commitment to helping and serving others, especially those in her family and community. Anita and her life partner Carol, lived in Ashville, North Carolina for six years before moving to Florida in 2017. During her time here, she enjoyed visits to the beach, bowling, cooking, and being crafty and painting. Anita was known as “Nana” by her family and close friends. Her family said she was a natural fixer of everything and gave the best advice. She will be dearly missed by the ones she loved the most.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Oldham and Alberta Williams Oldham; her brother, Charles Oldham; and her sisters, Janis Colville and Nancy Maravilla.
She is survived by her life partner, Carol Anne Vance; sons, Matthew Vance (Angel), Marc Vance and Bert Vance (Kamaran); daughter, Dawn Vance (Yuji Kikuchi); brother, Brian Oldham; sisters, Sandra Cavanaugh and Barbara Martin; and grandchildren, Ashley, Keith, Gracie, Chloe, Giana, Brianna, Logan and Alexium.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Martin officiating.
