Alton Jerry Lee, 84 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Wednesday morning surrounded by his family.  Alton was born in Green Cove Springs to the late Robert E. Lee and Effie Mae Pringle Lee and remained in Clay County all his life.  He was a graduate of Clay High School worked at the Hoisery Mill in Green Cove Springs for a brief a time and retired from Georgia Pacific in Palatka after 42 years.  Mr. Lee was a long time member of Russell Baptist Church where he was music director for 20 years prior to helping start Lake Asbury Baptist Church where he and his wife, Sue, were charter members.  Working on his blueberry farm, which he opened annually for guests, working in his garden, going to the mountains, riding his lawnmower and being a Gator fan are a few things that Alton really enjoyed.  His family and friends will miss him dearly.

Mr. Lee is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sue Lee, daughters, Debbie (Travis “Skip”) Moxley, Karen (Jock) Bush, and Lisa (fiancé, Charles Salazar) Lee Bryant, brother, Earl (Eudy) Lee, three grandchildren, Adam, Jason, and Katie, and seven great grandchildren, Greyson, Micah, Brianna, Lily, Wade, Jaxson, and Charlotte.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Russell Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Swain and Chaplain Donald Dowling officiating.  Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday prior to services.
