Alan Steven Brown, 83

Alan Steven Brown, 83 of Orange Park, FL passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015. Mr. Brown was a native of Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Clay County as a child from New Orleans. He was a member of Madeira Baptist Church for 46 years where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. After working with Jones Chambliss Meat Packers in Jacksonville for 20 years, Mr. Brown retired again following 14 years with the Department of Corrections at UCI. Alan enjoyed fishing and was considered a “jack of all trades” when it came to fixing anything around the house or even his cars; a trait he taught his family. He was a devoted Christian and loved to study God’s word even through his final days.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Brown, three children, six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Madeira Baptist Church of Middleburg with burial to follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM prior to services. Dr. Jerry A. Robinson will be officiating services.
