Raymond Andrew “Andy” Lott, 74

Raymond Andrew “Andy” Lott, 74, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.   Born in Mobile, AL to Edsel Crawley Lott and Hazel Stringfellow Lott, Andy spent most of his life in Florida.  After graduating in 1968 from Escambia High School, he served his country for four years in the United States Air Force.  After the military, he had various jobs, but the majority of his career (over 30 years) was with the Federal Government, Department of Defense, first at the Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP) at NAS Pensacola, then transferring to the NADEP at NAS Jacksonville in 1994. He retired from NADEP (now known as the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, or FRCSE) in 2005.

Andy had many varied interests and hobbies. He loved all kinds of fishing, but especially bass fishing. He was a proud member of the North Florida Bass Masters for many years.  He took up ballroom dancing with his wife, Janet, in 2005 and remained an active part of the dance community for the past twenty years.  He and his wife have been active members of the Ortega River Club for the past twelve years, where Andy served in various capacities – House Chairman, Vice President and Board Member. For many years, Andy and some co-workers and other friends got together weekly to brew and bottle their own beer. All of these activities (and many more) resulted in a multitude of very special lifelong friendships that he treasured.

Andy always had a story or joke to tell and loved to make people laugh. He never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went. Most importantly, he was a loving and supportive husband and father.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Edsel and Hazel Lott; as well as his sister, Janice Lott.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet Lott; two sons, Stephen Lott and Kevin Lott; his brother, Robert Lott (Teresa); nephew, Philip Lott; and niece, Melissa Williams (Greg), as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Ortega River Club, 4165 Lakeside Drive, Jacksonville FL 32210.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Andy’s memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association, https://support.apdaparkinson.org/ or the Parkinson’s Foundation, https://parkinson.org/donate.
