Born on August 5, 1938, Nancy was known for her kind and generous spirit, her love of laughter, and her deep devotion to her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
Throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Cancer, Nancy maintained her silly, cheerful and optimistic demeanor. Even as her memory faded, she continued to express gratitude to those who cared for her, always acknowledging their help with heartfelt thanks and a smile.
Nancy leaves behind a loving family, including her children, Cathy Huether, Susie Hatcher (David), and Billy Huether (Kim); her brother, Richard Abrisz; her sister, Patty Abrisz; grandchildren Johnny Moore (Catherine), Josh Moore, Jacob Moore, Katherine Hines (John), Kristen Huether, William Huether, and Sarah Huether; and her great-granddaughter, Caroline Hines. An active socializer, Nancy was involved in numerous hobbies. She was an avid bowler, participating in leagues for over six decades, and a passionate baker known especially for her cookies, which she loved sharing with everyone. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with her group, where she often spent more time laughing and talking than playing. A devoted fan of the Jaguars, Nancy experienced every game with intense emotion, often too nervous to watch if the score was tight. She found pleasure in her later years through completing puzzles, savoring her favorite cookies and spending precious time with her children and grandchildren. There was never a loss for words when she was around, even as Alzheimer’s progressed.
The family will hold a private celebration of her life, honoring the incredible woman she was and the indelible impact she made on those around her. Nancy’s life was a testament to the power of positivity and the enduring strength of familial bonds. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her friends, family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
