Laura Griffin Kelley, 64

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Griffin Kelley on November 4, 2024 at the age of 64. Laura was born on November 29, 1959 to William (Bill) and Lucille Bunn Griffin.

Laura will be known for kindness, zest for life, and love of animals. She was a life-long Jacksonville resident. She graduated Episcopal High School in 1977 and went on to take classes at Santa Fe College and University of Florida in Gainesville.

Laura met and married her husband, Frank Kelley, while working as a waitress at Sunset Grill in St. Augustine.  She and Frank enjoyed camping trips to Big Pine Key and time spent boating and fishing up and down the Florida coast.

Laura spent many years working as a bankruptcy specialist at local companies such as Homeward Residential, EverBank, Green Tree Servicing, and most recently LoanCare. Laura loved her work and was recognized often as an outstanding employee.

Laura is pre-deceased in life by her mother and father, Lucille and Bill Griffin, her husband, Frank, and her aunt, Lena Knight. She is survived by her brother, William (Billy) Griffin Jr., her niece, Lisa (Nicole) Griffin, her great niece, Alesia Williams, and her aunt, Dorothy Mills.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to First Coast No More Homeless Pets in Laura’s memory. Arrangements for a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
