Melva Rowland, 93

Melva Laverma Rowland, 93, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Friday, November 1, 2024.  Melva was born in Alma, GA to the late Levi and Cassie Brannam and lived in Waycross and Brunswick before coming to Florida 13 years ago.  Strong in her faith, Melva was a longtime member of Glyndale Baptist Church.  She enjoyed ceramics, shopping and time with her family.  As a homemaker, Melva was a loving, caring and giving woman who was always there for her family.  Her biggest joy in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren.  She was truly the foundation of her family and will be greatly missed.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Brannam and Cassie Crosby Whitmore; her husband, Eugene Talmadge Rowland; one son, Gregory Eugene Rowland; one sister, Leona Courson; and one grandson, Christopher Reese.  She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Scott Rowland; her two daughters, Donna Rowland Dyson (Jeff) and Barbara Rowland Reese (Grady); two sisters, Virginia Wolfe and Cassie Smith; five grandchildren, Amber Rowland Thomas (Luther), Brittany Rowland Benjamin (David), Makeighla Reardon, John Adair, Jr. (Dana), and Shane Adair (Jennifer); as well as four great-grandchildren, Aubrey Thomas, Trey Benjamin, Bryson Adair and Lance Adair.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and she will be laid to rest in Chapel Park Cemetery in Brunswick, GA with her husband.
