Mindy Nichole (Smith) Hartung, 44, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 24, 2024.  She was born on September 20, 1979 in Jacksonville, Florida.  She graduated from Wolfson High School in 1998 and then from FSCJ with Honors.  A few years after graduating from high school, Mindy met the love of her life, Jeffrey Hartung, and they were married on February 29, 2004.  Sadly, he predeceased Mindy in 2012, after a battle with cancer.

Mindy is survived by her son, Dylan; her mother and stepfather, Debbi and Richard Mann; her father, Ron Smith; her grandfather, Harold Sorrells; her brother Kyle (Danielle) Smith; her stepbrother, Richard Mann, Jr.; her stepsister, Whitney (Travis) Falkenberg; 2 nephews, 5 nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mindy’s greatest joy was her son, Dylan, and she enjoyed cheering him on in his many accomplishments.

When Mindy was born she was that first for all of the family; the first child, grandchild and niece and she was special to all.  Even though she didn’t have many years here on Earth, she loved her family and friends fiercely and will be greatly missed by many.

A Memorial Service for Mindy will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Russell Haven of Rest, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, Florida.  A private graveside service for the family will be immediately following the Memorial.
