Hamp “Gene” Liles, 71

Hamp “Gene” Eugene Liles, 71 of Middleburg, FL passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. Gene was born in Brooker, FL to parents Paul Franklin Liles and Dorothy Stone Liles in 1952 and spent most of his life in Tampa, FL with wife, Victoria until relocating to north Florida in 2011. Gene had many passions and interests. He was an avid fisherman, and believed there was always time to cast a line. He was incredibly smart, mastering many skills, and known by most as a jack of all trades. Gene was a comedian and socialite; always cracking jokes, making those around him laugh. He was a hard worker, and appreciated the little things in life like scratch off tickets, afternoon naps watching TV, his impeccable taste in music, and spending time with family. Gene was a devoted husband to Victoria for almost 48 years, father to his 7 children, and grandfather to his 2 grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those that loved him the most.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dorothy Liles. He is survived by his loving wife Victoria Liles, sons, Christopher Liles, James Liles (Timothy), Shane Liles, Jared Liles; daughters, Cynthia Bunner (David), Megan Liles, and Deleah Liles; brother, Paul Liles (Mary) ; sisters, Rudine Preece (Ray) and Linda-Gail Liles and grandchildren, Brayden Liles and Bianca Bunner.
