Brandon Charles Michaelis, 34, of Fleming Island, FL passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024. A native of the area, Brandon was born in Jacksonville and resided in the area most of his life. He graduated from Bartram Trail High School, then attended Florida State University and the University of North Florida, graduating from UNF with a bachelor’s degree in Transportation and Logistics. Bright and dedicated, Brandon took great pride in his career in logistics, most recently working as an Operations Supervisor with A V Logistics. Brandon valued his colleagues and company dearly.

Brandon was a force of nature, a “gentle giant.” He was loud, loving, and the life of the party. He was quick-witted, a practical joker, and never met a stranger. You always knew if Brandon was at an event, because you could hear him before you walked in the room, and you knew he was coming in for a hug the second he saw you. No one experienced this more than his family. Personal time with his wife, Becky, and daughter, Brooke, was something Brandon treasured above all else. Whether out to eat at the Japanese Steak House, coaching one of Brooke’s soccer games, screaming at a Noles game, or cuddling up watching a movie, time spent with Becky and Brooke was sacred. This love, adoration, and sentimentality was something Brandon graciously extended to all of his family. Always one for family traditions at the holidays, Brandon could be counted on to eat Mom’s monkey bread and peanut butter balls, make sure ornaments were hung in exactly the right places, and ensure the FSU game was on. Brandon was the silly, loveable uncle who put you on his shoulders and the super-strong dad who threw you across the pool, while all the grandparents said “Be careful!” He cared deeply for those around him and showed it openly and willingly.

Brandon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry (Buddy) and Anna Faye Michaelis, and his maternal grandparents, Hugh and Buette Brazell. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Becky Michaelis; daughter, Brooke Michaelis; mother and stepfather, Leslie and Steve Trescot; father, Peter Michaelis; brother, Aaron Michaelis (Ashley); half-sister, Shannon Michaelis, stepbrothers, Chris Trescot (Lucia), and Taylor Trescot (Genesis); stepsister, Amanda MacDonald (James); numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Rev. Check McArthur officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at 10:00 am.
