Frank Henry Barber III, 78

Frank Henry Barber III, born on June 12, 1945, in Allentown, NJ, passed away on October 13, 2023, at home in Fleming Island, FL.  Frank lived most of his life in Robbinsville, NJ.  He lived in Chesapeake, Virginia for several years before moving to Fleming Island, Florida.  Frank, known for his warm-hearted nature and a lifelong dedication to helping others, left a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew him.

Graduating from Allentown High School in 1963, Frank’s lifelong journey began anchored in his family, where he found the sturdy foundation and the framework upon which he built his profound passion for wood-working. His hands were an extension of his heart, wielding tools that shaped not only wood but also the lives of those he loved. By Frank’s own hands, the very house that embraced his family was crafted, and within those walls, he saw his dreams grow and flourish.

With his pickup truck at the ready, Frank was a steadfast friend to all in need, equally comfortable handling a power tool as he was embracing a loved one. His multifaceted personality shone most brilliantly when extending a helping hand. Whether through a well-timed joke and infectious laugh, a captivating story, sage advice, or the right tool for the job, Frank was ever ready and willing to rise to any occasion.

His faith, a cornerstone of his life, led him to a deep connection with his church community, where he found a second family of cherished friends. From his active role in the church, to his later years as a member of a Christian motorcycle club Riders for Christ, Frank’s love for God, his friends, and family radiated through his actions. Frank’s legacy is a testament to the love he nurtured, and the lives he touched. In the warmth of his embrace and the echoes of his laughter, Frank’s spirit lives on forever in our hearts. He was not just a builder of homes but also of love, compassion, and cherished memories. May his legacy continue to inspire us all.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Barber, and his sister, Christina Bahrs. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Robbins Barber, their children: Jennifer (Jack McNeil), Cathy Barber (Fletcher Otwell), and Tim Barber. Lisa Hovemeyer and other cousins, nieces, and nephews. The legacy of his kindness and “there’s gotta be a way” attitude lives on in his six adoring grandchildren, to which he is known as “Grampa”: Brendan, Brielle, Brianna, Abigail, Ansley, and Jacob.

In celebration of Frank’s life, funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, visitation at 10:00AM and memorial service at 11:00 AM at Grace Anglican Church, 5804 Highway 17, Fleming Island, FL 32003.
