Julie Josefa Toro, 88

Julie Josefa Toro, 88, of Middleburg, FL passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, September 23, 2023.  She was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico to the late Jose Valero and Rafaela Zayas. Julie moved to Queens, New York at the age of eighteen. She later moved to Palm Coast for 35 years before calling Middleburg, FL home. She was a homemaker until her children were teenagers and then worked as a seamstress for Brentwood Industries. While living in Palm Coast, Julie worked as a teacher in an afterschool program where the children adored her. She was a very compassionate and loving person. Julie enjoyed being a hostess and wanted to make sure others were comfortable before considering herself.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Rafaela; her husband of 66 years, Raul Toro; her sister, Cruz Maria Valero; seven brothers, Jose Valero, Jose Enrique Valero, Jaime Valero, Juan Valero, Luis Valero, Julio Valero and Guillermo Valero.  She is survived by her son, Raul Toro, Jr. (Lori); her daughter, Nidia Walkup (Wally); four grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma and Little Mama, Nicole Lindeman (Derek), Raul Toro III (Shawna), Gregory Walkup (Rachael), and Natasha Crisler (Eric); seven great-grandchildren, Parker Lindeman, Phoenix Toro, Onyx Toro, Finn Walkup, Selah Walkup, Berkleigh Crisler, and Kash Crisler. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00am at Immanuel Anglican Cathedral, 915 Orchid Ave., Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
