Nathaniel Lafayette “Fate” Moody, 89

Nathaniel Lafayette “Fate” Moody, 89, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Monday, January 31, 2022.  Fate was born January 13, 1933 to the late Virgil and Betty Moody and was a lifelong resident of Clay County.  Fate spent his working years as a logger for Union Camp/Gator Logging before retiring.  He loved spending time hunting and fishing as well as telling stories about his hunting and fishing trips.  He enjoyed taking family trips to the mountains.  Fate was known for his charming personality and sense of humor.  He was lovingly known as “Papa” and “Pulpwooder”.

Fate was preceded in death by loving wife, Norma Moody.  He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Moody (Vicki) and Ronnie Moody (Carol); five daughters, Harriette Meeks, Denise Ostrom (Dennis), Vickie Wright (Henry), Laura Lackey (Jerry), and Carolyn Saberg (Billy); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Fate’s life will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Moody residence, 2261 Washington Ave., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.  All are welcome to attend.
