Reba Palmer Dailey of Green Cove Springs passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on December 13, 2021. Reba was born on May 19, 1924 in Vidalia, GA to parents Mamie and Thomas Palmer. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1942 and married Jack Dailey on October 23, 1943 in the Chapel at NAS Jacksonville. After WWII they made their home in Jacksonville. Reba worked at the Armed Forces Entrance and Examining Station during the Vietnam War eventually retiring from Civil Service. A devout Christian, serving over the years as Sunday School teacher and helping in Children’s Ministries, she was a member of Lake Asbury Baptist Church. She was an avid prayer warrior throughout her life. Loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and renowned southern cook are words that describe Reba.
She is predeceased by her parents, eight siblings, one great granddaughter and her loving husband of 69 years. Survivors include four daughters, Janet (Conley) Lemons, Betty (John) Campbell, Linda (Stephen) Swenson, and Frances (Wesley) O’Quinn, eleven grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 17 at Russell Haven of Rest Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM prior to services.
