Shirley Browning Wright, 84

Shirley Browning Wright, 84, of Middleburg, FL passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  Shirley was born in Logan, West Virginia to the late John and Sally McDonald Browning.  She spent her adult life between Georgia and Florida.  Shirley started working at Southern Bell as an operator and retired with AT&T as a manager.  After retirement, she went back to school for her beautician’s license.  She was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers.  Shirley enjoyed attending church at Parkway Assembly of God in Macon, GA where she loved her pastor and church family.  Hosting family and friends was a favorite thing of Shirley’s and she was good at it.  Most of all, Shirley loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Robert “Bob” Wright; her parents; and four brothers, Tommy Browning, Everett Browning, Buster Browning, and Johnny Browning.  She is survived by her sons, Gary Mullins (Sheryl), Andy Wright (Bonnie), Vince Wright, and Gene Wright (Sharone); one daughter, Jannann McSwain (Scott); six grandchildren, Lindsey Scott (Shane), Marcie Mullins, Ryan Mullins (Dana), Brandon Wright, Breanna Wright, and Drew Wright; as well as five great-grandchildren, Jamison Mullins, Charlotte Mullins, Tanner Scott, Braelyn Scott, and McKendree Scott.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Warner Robins, GA.
