Gail Perricone Gilrain, 70

Gail Perricone Gilrain, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed from this life peacefully Monday, April 5, 2021, surrounded by her family.  Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Joan and Joseph Perricone, Sr., Gail moved to Florida in 2005 from Forked River, NJ, where she was a pediatric medical assistant for over 20 years.  Passionate about work with her beloved San Sebastian Catholic Church, she served as Eucharistic Minister and Youth Minister, volunteered regularly with vacation bible school, and participated with the Lady’s Guild.  Gail was also a member of the Magnolia Point Women’s Club and dedicated her time and talents to giving back to her community.

She lived 1000 years in the 70 calendar years we had with her because she attacked life; she grabbed it by the lapels, kissed it and swung it back onto the dance floor.  Forever the life of the party, she lit up a room with her smile and her laugh was contagious.  She enjoyed painting and fishing, always catching the biggest fish.  Her tenacity, charm and grace captured the hearts of all who knew her.

Above all else, Gail cherished being a wife, a mother and a grandmother.  Whether celebrating holidays, vacationing, cooking out, or just spending time together laughing and enjoying life, she was always at her happiest when surrounded by her loved ones — especially her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Perricone, Jr.; and her sister, Beverly Perricone.  She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Gilrain; daughter, Jamie Standley (Bill); son, Chris Gilrain (Kate); and three grandchildren, Kylie, Ian, and Gavin Gilrain.

A memorial service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at San Sebastian Catholic Church, 1112 FL-16, St. Augustine, FL 32092.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
