We gather here today to celebrate and honor the life of Nina Elizabeth Robinson Smith—a woman whose heart was as boundless as the love she shared with those around her. Born on August 28, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Sylvia and Earl Robinson, Nina was the eldest of four siblings: Richard, Mickey, and her youngest sister, Sylvia. From the very beginning, she was a guiding light in their lives, always ensuring that everyone was cared for, fed, and clothed.

Nina had a gift—one that couldn’t be taught but was simply a part of who she was. She was selfless, compassionate, and devoted to her family. Whether it was making blueberry muffins as an after-school treat, picking out thoughtful gifts for birthdays and Christmas, or calling her sister at 3 AM just to check in, Nina’s love knew no bounds. She was the kind of person who, without hesitation, would board a plane just to comfort her sister, even if it meant turning right around and flying home.

To those fortunate enough to know her, Nina was more than a daughter, a sister, a wife, or a mother—she was a blessing. She lived with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering sense of duty to the people she loved. When Jim came into her life, he knew he had found someone special. Taking on a life with three daughters was no small decision, but Jim embraced it with love and grace, creating a family that was full of warmth and care. Together, Nina and Jim welcomed a fourth daughter into their family, further deepening their love and devotion as parents.

To her mother-in-law, Nina became like a daughter—always positive, faithful, and giving. She devoted herself to her faith, studying her Bible and volunteering to help others, leaving a lasting impact not just on her family but on the community around her.

Nina’s life was a testament to love, sacrifice, and unwavering kindness. And on February 1, 2025, at 9:56 PM, she peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loved ones. Though our hearts ache with the loss, we find comfort in knowing she was embraced by those she cherished most in her final moments.

Today, as we reflect on Nina’s life, we do so with heavy hearts but grateful souls. Nina leaves behind her devoted husband, Jim Smith, her beloved daughters, Katrina, Christina, Kim, Tiffany, her amazing 10 grandchildren and 5 1/2 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and kindness that will live on in each of us.

Though she has left this earthly world, we take comfort in knowing that Nina has earned her place in heaven—a place where her giving spirit will shine as brightly as ever. And while we grieve, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives.

We will miss her deeply, but this is not goodbye—this is see you later.

Until we meet again, Nina, may you rest in peace, surrounded by the love you so freely gave.
